ABOUT US

Ephrata Precision Parts, Inc., formed in 1972 as a jobbing machine shop. Renting an old cigar factory with wooden floors, the co-founders worked part-time to get their new business on firm footing. Within six months, both were full time, and Ephrata Precision Parts was growing into its name. Ten years later, in 1982, the company expanded by adding the Polyurethane Department followed by Tool & Die in 1995. Today, Ephrata Precision owns three buildings and operates out of a 56,000 square foot facility.

We can turn drawings or sketches into quality parts or even reverse engineer an existing part to meet our customer’s specifications. From prototypes to thousands of parts, Ephrata Precision manufactures items for customers across North America. Once a part slips into production, manufacturing requirements might necessitate custom ordering processes. Therefore, Ephrata accepts both "Kanban" and "Blanket" orders to better serve our customers. Approximately twenty percent of our manufacturing facility is dedicated to inventory. Not only is Ephrata committed to stocking raw materials to streamline manufacturing, we also stock finished parts at the request of our customers to guarantee timely deliveries. We are a certified dock to stock supplier for international corporations.

For almost 50 years, Ephrata Precision has honed its business in the custom manufacturing sector by delivering quality parts at competitive prices. We are a true job shop in that everything Ephrata Precision manufactures is per our customer’s specifications; therefore, we are as much a service industry as a manufacturer. Our employees enjoy the resulting variety and challenges that test their training and experience.

OUR DEPARTMENTS

Machine Shop:

Ephrata Precision offers a wide range of machining services for the manufacturing industry. We have a full machine shop providing precision and close-tolerance machining. Utilizing our large array of machines, we have produced parts from 0.030” in size to shafts that are almost twenty feet long. A sampling of our customers come from industries like home décor, security, metal fabrication, grinding and dispersing equipment, steel mills, and food processing.

Tool & Die

Our tool & die department designs, builds, and repairs tools for various industries including the medical, electronics, foodservice, security, and construction sectors. We currently have over 160 years combined experience in this field. We produce parts to tolerance within a tenth of a thousandth of an inch (divide a human hair into four parts, and then divide that into ten segments—that’s 0.0001”).

Polyurethane Department

From free-standing parts to precision grinding, Ephrata Precision’s polyurethane department provides a variety of cast polyurethane services. We can manufacture new parts complete with metal cores or even strip and recoat worn parts to extend service life. Specializing in configurative polyurethane parts as well as rolls, wheels, and bond-to-metal applications, our Polyurethane Dept. services numerous industries. Our parts have a hand in such applications as food and candy prep and packaging, medical equipment, naval submarines, and agricultural harvesting.

Inspection Department

Our Inspection Department includes two coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, a surface plate, and a multitude of micrometers, gauges, and experience. Everything is routinely calibrated by a third party and traceable to the National Bureau of Standards to ensure that we can continue to use the word “precision” in our name. Every item that leaves our shop must pass through our rigorous inspection department.
